Now it should be known to anyone reading this, that I love my country. No matter what the media says, no matter what the rest of the world somewhat justifiably says, I love america. It is home. And for millions of others, the same holds true. And yet, we find our once-proud nation under siege by our former allies. We see rioting in far-away lands, brought closer only by shady characters hiding behind large dollar figures, aquisition budgets, and in most cases only a shred of decency. We fight ourselves, to keep others from fighting. We live in vain, to keep ourselves from dying. And what, what exacly are we accomplishing? the weakest economy and bleakest future since nixon’s reign. Now i mean not to assault the character of the head cheese, but isn’t it time to start mending fences? as they say, we attract more flies with honey than we do with vinegar.

The united states is, in a sense intentionally distanced from the egotistical typification of the best country in the world, still a beautiful and prosperous setting within which to dwell. We live in the spirit of freedom, and of the constitution. But times are near when our granted freedoms will be inherently stripped down to bare-bones protection. It is a travesty that we should stand idly by and watch our soldiers die, our agents spy, and our citizens under the microscope under thin guises of protection. We were granted, under the constitution and visage of the founding fathers, the fundamental civil liberties, and for which they stand, divided by politics, but aligned by heritage and faith. Both sides fight for what they believe in, as they should, but corruption and greed stand by sides unchecked by the system that we put so much faith in.

But then there are a large chunk, that thrive in a land of apathy and self-indulgence. It is those who vote for candidates based on appearances, based on connectibility. what we require, however, is a leader who is both brave and noble. A leader that will make intelligent decisions about which country to bomb, which country to aid, and not jump the gun in times of falsified memorandums, clunky legal bindings and gag orders, and resent among the general population. As a nation , we are in dire need of an chain awakening, a mass step back to look at our ever-dimming bright hopes and smoggy horizons.

If a nation would like to fight for freedom, there is no need for violence. Peace is the universal language of understanding in diplomatic terms for a progressive society. Just as the terrorists that are wiretapped illegally under shady terms are half-justifiable, the government must hold to higher standards, higher ethics than those who so venture into encroaching upon the liberties of our nation’s citizens.

In Conclusion, I find french philosopher voltaire states a great volume in one passage. “”I disapprove of what you say, but I defend to the death your right to say it.”.

“If a nation would like to fight for freedom, there is no need for violence.” Are you kidding me?! It’s people like you I really don’t understand.
I really don’t think you realize that these radical muslims want you & me DEAD. Yup, DEAD. No ifs, ands or buts. Why? Because we don’t believe in
the same religion that they do. If they had the chance, they would kill you and your entire family. (and your little dog Toto, too) “Peace is the universal language of understanding in diplomatic terms for a progressive society.” Yup, peace is a wonderful thing. When all parties believe in it. Problem is, they don’t. And they’re willing to pay the ultimate price to get their 72 virgins. As for them living in a progressive society… just look at the way they treat women. So progressive. “If a woman’s conduct is mischievous or immodest, the husband has the right to beat her up but must not break her bones.” (Hadith Tirmzi) Grow up and get your head out of your ass. There IS evil in this world bent on destruction of you and me.

Although i respect your opinion, i have to disagree. It’s a small sect of extremists that’s tarnishing the image of the muslim community, much like a few abortion clinic bombers tarnished the image of the southern christian faiths in the nineties, or much like the violent rule of a few militant IRA members..well..maintained their image. Violence is just a pervasive genetic holdover from a time when we had to be violent to survive. But we’ve progressed as a species. Although i admit the tirmzi quote is pretty deplorable if widely accepted.

People of any faith can be violent, it’s just the bad seeds that actualize it.

WHOA! That small sect you speak of is BIG. It’s many countries, and many lands, many nations, and many neighborhoods right here in the good ole’ USA. When the time comes for lining the wall or being lined up on the wall, you’re going to be totally surprised that there is a very small sect of Muslims lined up at the wall with ya.

  4. NVT of OH Says:

Extremist is a minimizing label for someone who knows where they stand, what they stand for, and refuses to be swayed by a gray area. Now, as bad as that may seem narrow minded. Sometimes they are the only voice against a popular wrong that rightfully insists on being heard.
I understand the all tactfully passive approach and the violently defensive/offensive reaction, who’s to say the better of the two?.. not I, but no doubt-one, the other, or both would have a better outcome in my eyes than none. If you can’t tell a burglar not to break in, and the alarms didn’t protect you, when he is in your face and he is going to do what he wants and his only negotiating debate is which weapon is the most untraceable to erase this witness. Do you continue to talk in hopes you just might scholar him to a better direction until your bloody fate? Or- do you secretly wire your house with intrusion preps, arming up, and just slaughter any invading threat, innocent or no, circumstance or not, true threat or even mistakable assumption?
Truth is, you can’t procrastinate a war, you have to fight it! How? Well it’s only common sense. There is a difference between attacking and defense, carelessness and strategy, and most important, the right way and the wrong way. If you can’t tell which is which, let your conscience guide you. If you have one, then it will.
If we keep letting someone else make our decisions for us seemingly conscious free then America is and will remain to be LOSING this war or/and the next.
