Who is the braniac who developed the plastic toilet seat bolt? In fact, who was the idiot that first even thought of them? Ever since plastic toilet seat bolts became ubiquitous, replacing the previous solid and steadfast metal toilet seat bolts, sitting on a public toilet has become a dangerous sport. Now, whenever you set yourself down on the seat, you quite literally risk wrenching your back, or throwing out your hip, as the seat slides out from under you to one side or the other. What is up with all these otherwise educated people who insist on pronouncing "Washington" as "Warshington"?? Karl Rove, who, regardless of your politics, you must admit is an educated, worldly guy. WTF is up with his, at this stage of his life, calling our capitol - where he served for 8 years! - "Warshington"? And not to pick on Rove, LOTS of people say it. What's up with that, people? I have no real love for marketers and marketing copywriters generally, but honestly, have you ever read the drivel that gets affixed to wine or attached to artwork? Who writes this crap?? Did they get their writing degree, if they have one, by drawing 'Spunky' from a matchbook? Do they actually take themselves seriously?? Does anyone take them seriously? Can you imagine being their kid, and having to go to school for "what does your parent do" day, and having to get up in front of a class and say "my daddy writes crap descriptions of wine"?? There has been a lot in the press today about how the doctors hired to oversee Michael Angelo Morales' execution, to make sure that he didn't suffer crushing agony during his lethal injection, refused to carry out their task, saying that it was unethical for them, and went against the Hippocratic oath. They could have done it, technically and medically speaking, but it would be wrong, they said. The move by the doctors forced a delay in the execution, already delayed by a court ruling that the lethal injection may be cruel and unusual punishment, as there is ample evidence (more...)
